The Worland Fire Protection District & Worland Volunteer Fire Department provide all hazard response. We respond to any type fire, extrication & rescue, or hazardous material response in the Fire District. Along with these we also respond to a verity of other calls providing assistance to other agencies within the District and Washakie County.
The Worland Volunteer Fire Department takes pride in our Department annually we hold events that provide opportunity to boost crew and family cohesion; as well as, events that support our great community of Worland.
Worland Fire Protection District and Worland Volunteer Fire Department partner with Red Cross to engage with citizens in our community; with the goal of having working smoke detectors in every home in our Fire District.
Worland Fire Protection District and Worland Volunteer Fire Department have the great opportunity to partner with the schools in Worland. We are out in the schools for public education at different times of the year, but most notable during Fire Prevention week in October. We have the opportunity to provide education to children between 3 years of age all the way to 18 years of age in these schools.
Held at the end of fire prevention week in October as a thank you to the community for continued support, and to enhance fire prevention and education awareness within the community. The breakfast is held at Worland Fire Station 1, allowing the community to see the fire station, our equipment, and interact with our firefighters. Come and let us fix you breakfast; pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage and more!
Held in July to bring firefighters and family members together with food, games and lots of fun! Traditionally a great BBQ with plenty of delicious food, and don't forget our "grown ups" water fight!!
Every year the Worland Volunteer Fire Department actively participates in community parades.
Worland Volunteer Fire Department calls Santa from the north pole each year and invites firefighter family to bring the kiddos to sit in Santa's lap and lay out the list! This event is for both the young and young at heart!
Worland Volunteer Fire Department hosts an annual Awards Banquet to thank firefighters and spouses for the time and dedication shown. New members will be sworn in during a ceremony honoring their commitment and dedication to the fire service. Firefighters that have gone above and beyond throughout the previous year are eligible to receive awards including: Cadet of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Operator of the Year, and Firefighter of the Year.
Every year the Worland Volunteer Fire Department hosts a Fund Drive to raise funds for the Fire Department operations including supplies, meals, and training for our firefighters!
